Two editing tips for bio pages edet

Hello, Coconutic, and thanks for your recent activity. Here are two tips on edits you can use when creating or improving biography pages:

  • To alphabetize pages by the subject's surname, place the DEFAULTSORT template above any categories, with the name as follows:
    • {{DEFAULTSORT:Lastname, Firstname}},
  • Any stub template (e.g. {{Stub}}, {{jio-stub}}) should be placed as the last item on a page, under categories and other templates.

You can see examples of these by looking at some of my recent edits. Keep up the great work! -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 10:33, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi. I am NorfolkIsland123. There are some words that you just have to know such as piopel, which is people, or pan, which is pine. However, there are also words that need to be "Norfolkised". For example, the word internationally can be changed to enternashunalii. There, I changed the prefix in to en, changed the tion to shun and changed the ally to alii. Another example isGeography, which can be changed to 'Jiiografii'. Here, we changed the Geo to Jiio, the graph to graf and the last letter, y, to ii. So, there are some rules for norfolksing words but there are also words that are permanant and you just have to know.

Status of this wiki edet

Hello Coconutic,

Not sure if you saw it, but I made a comment on Talk:Mien Paij about the future of this wiki. I'm considering starting a third request for closure of this wikipedia edition considering the issues that arose in the Scots Wikipedia, and the fact that this edition seems to have similar risks. I think your input as the local active administrator would be helpful - do you think there's a long-term path to viability for this wiki? If not, would you also potentially support closure? If we don't have any active fluent speakers of Pitkern/Norfuk, then guaranteeing that this wiki is actually correct seems very difficult... and it's not clear to me that an encyclopedia is the right way to build free content for this language anyway. Maybe a Wikibook would be better, even if we got a fluent volunteer willing to help out. SnowFire (talk) 23:14, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello edet

Hello, and sorry for writing in English. I noticed that you created the Wikkapedya:Lyst o' Wikkapedyas page in the main namespace, which should be in the project namespace. If you agree, I can move it to the Wikipedia namespace without leaving a redirect. If you want 'Wikkapedya' as a localized project namespace prefix, you can initiate a community discussion. After 7 days, you can move it to Phabricator (Example task: phab:T354114). Thanks. Yahya (talk) 15:04, 3 Jaenyuweri 2024 (UTC)Reply
